Kristen Ann "Kris" Smith, age 66, of Dayton, formerly of Washington Court House, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by loved ones, on March 7, 2023.
Kris was born in Washington Court House, Ohio, on December 13, 1956, to Russell and Mary Ann Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Russel Smith; her dog, Max; grandparents, Wesley and Mary Whaley, Austin and Helen Smith; aunt, Wilma Mathews; and uncle, Nelson Whaley.
Kris is survived by mother, Mary Ann Smith; dog, Joey; sister, Robin (Jeff) Knorr; nieces, Vanessa (Paul) Knorr, Whitney (James) Brandt, Emily (Steve) Fannin; 10 great nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
She graduated from Miami Trace High School, class of 1975. Kris attended OSU after graduating High School. She holds an Associate's Degree from OIP&T in photography. Kris currently worked for MetLife as a Customer Service Representative. She was a member of Christian Life Center for more than 20 years, she currently attends New Life Fellowship Church. In her free time, Kris enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing and crafts, gardening and photography. She was funny and easy going, very loving and always positive. Kris could make anybody laugh, as she was the comedian of the family.

Ellie's Rainy Day Fund or by mail at P.O. Box #340013, Beavercreek, OH 45434, a charity for rescue dogs' medical needs. Kris was very passionate about helping dogs in need and made the request for donations.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where funeral services will begin at 11:00am, with Pastor Timothy Hume officiating. All are welcome to attend the burial at Washington Cemetery in Washington Court House at 2pm.
