Kirk L. Overholtz, age 70, of Dayton, passed away on April 13, 2022. He was born on July 31, 1951 to the late Homer and Bertha Overholtz.
He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army at the age of 16 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. In his free time, he liked to spend time with his friends and family, often sharing stories over a beer. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs, Mia, Willie, and Mikey. He loved his family, and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Kirk was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Sharon Overholtz; his brothers: Bill Forsythe, Ronnie Overholtz, Jerry Overholtz, and Gene Overholtz; and sisters: Ruby Forsythe, and Janice Mason.
His memory will be cherished by his children: Melissa (Michael) Santus and Richie (Kari) Overholtz; grandchildren: Camron, Trestan, Jack, and Brendan; sisters, Linda (Mark) Meyers and Carol Atkins; brother, James (Becky) Overholtz; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 5:00pm. Kirk will be laid to rest with his wife, Sharon, at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
