Kirk Alan Himmelberg

June 17, 1966 — March 30, 2021

Kirk A. Himmelberg, age 54 of Centerville, OH, passed away on March 30, 2021. He was born on June 17, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio to his parents, Maurice and Mary Himmelberg. Kirk was preceded in death by his mother, Mary.

Kirk Himmelberg was a successful businessman over the last 35 years, owning prosperous businesses in Dayton and Louisville. He was the ultimate problem-solver and likely the handiest person any of his friends and family knew. His solution was always the most practical one, sometimes even to the point of being absurd, but his way always worked. He could give MacGyver a run for his money. Kirk embodied the phrase "life of the party." He was the master of creating fun, and if you were lucky enough to be in his orbit, you were guaranteed to have a great time. Kirk had a lifelong passion for boating, and his happy place was most definitely on the water. He loved nothing more than to share that happy place with as many people as possible, and he always made sure your drink was full, the music was playing, and you were ready for a day out on the water with him. If you ask anyone what the one possession Kirk had that he could not live without, they will say his guitar. Everyone in Kirk's life has found themselves at one point or another sitting around the fire, or down in the basement, or on the back of the boat, as Kirk played his guitar and sang. He lit up when he played, and he loved nothing more than playing and singing with just about anyone who would share that moment of life with him. Most of all, Kirk loved his family. He adored his wife LeAnn, and he loved his children Jessica and Bradley as fiercely as one could love. He was over the moon with excitement about the thought of meeting his granddaughter, his first grandchild, when she arrives in a few short weeks. He leaves behind countless family and friends who will never forget his friendliness, his off-the-wall humor, his bigger-than-life-personality, and his love. We are all so much richer for having known him.

Kirk is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, LeAnn Himmelberg; children, Jessica and Bradley Himmelberg; granddaughter, Valerie; father, Maurice (Patricia) Himmelberg in-laws Barbara Treon and siblings, along with his nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Kirk's Life will be held from 2:00pm – 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Sugar Valley Golf Club, 1250 Mead Rd, Bellbrook, OH, with spiritual service beginning at 3:30pm.
