Kirby S. Donovan, age 68, of New Lebanon peacefully passed away at home on February 6, 2024. He was born in Dayton on October 25, 1955 to the late Willard and Jackie Donovan. Kirby is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rose; children, Justin (Mindy Lewis) Donovan, Nicole (Nick Milburn) Donovan; granddaughter, Scarlet Donovan and siblings, Scott (Rachel) Donovan, Christina (Ron) Meyer; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
From an early age Kirby learned the trade of carpentry from his uncle that he carried throughout the rest of his life and built many amazing things, mostly by himself. Along with his carpentry skills, he was a jack of all trades. Kirby retired from the City of Oakwood after 33 years of service. While there, he served as the Chapter Chairman of AFSCME Local 101 for many years. He loved to hunt, fish and was an avid gardener as well. This past fall Kirby rededicated his life to the Lord and stated to family members he was at peace for the first time in a long time. Kirby will be deeply missed and forever loved by those who knew him.
