Kevin Custon

Kevin "Yogi" Custon Sr., age 69, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, at his home in Dayton, Ohio. Kevin was born January 26, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, where he met and married the love of his life, Patricia Custon. They were married on July 3, 1973.

Kevin served many years in the United States Air Force, beginning at Wright Patterson Air Force base and then finishing his career, retiring from working as a police officer at the Dayton, Ohio Veteran's Administration. He was a loving father, uncle, grandfather, friend, and coworker. He had many interests, including his family, gardening, and fishing, and he also was a knife and gun enthusiast. He also enjoyed traveling and having fun at the casino. Kevin was selfless and thought of others before himself.

Kevin is survived by his children: Bettye, Deborah, and Kevin Custon Jr; grandchildren: Christopher Custon, Joseph Boykin Jr, Jasmine Jones, D'Arrius Custon, Jaeda Custon, Kevin David Custon, and Aiden Custon; special family friends Sarah Wendling and Katie Green.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Private graveside services will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
