Kerry Bouffioux

February 11, 1986 — May 24, 2014

Kerry Nicolas Bouffioux, 28, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. His passing was peaceful, at home with family and friends at his side.

Kerry was born Feb. 11, 1986 in Englewood, Colorado, moving to the Miami Valley in Dec. 1986. He grew up in Bellbrook and graduated in 2004. While in high school Kerry was a percussionist with the award-winning Marching Eagles, Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and Symphonic Band. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 75 and became an Eagle Scout in 2004. At Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, Kerry joined Sigma Delta Phi (Sphinx) fraternity, forged many lasting friendships, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing and Public Relations with a music minor. After he graduated, he moved to Boston, MA as an AmeriCorps volunteer for a literacy program, and then it was on to New York City where he lived in Brooklyn and worked for JL Production Design in Manhattan.

Kerry returned home in the fall of 2013 to continue his fight against his cancer with the support of family and friends. He loved hiking and camping, music, films, traveling, trying new things, craft beer, and soccer. He was a faithful supporter of the Columbus Crew, the US Men's National Team, Barcelona, and Liverpool FC. Kerry lived his life with passion, humor, curiosity, and love.

His passing is mourned by his parents, Carol (Sarabia) and Larry Bouffioux; brothers, Ryan and Conor; grandparents, Maurice and Carol Bouffioux, Susie Grable, and Victor and Trudy Sarabia; 15 aunts and uncles; 12 cousins; a large extended family; sweetheart, Vanessa Funfsinn, and scores of loving friends. The family wishes to thank the fine staffs at Miami Valley Hospital (BMTU) and Hospice of Dayton for the compassionate and competent care they gave Kerry over the past several weeks.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, on Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, memorial service following.
