Kenneth A. Kirchner

March 17, 1958 — August 9, 2024

New Carlisle

Kenneth A. Kirchner “Ken”, age 66 of New Carlisle, passed away August 9, 2024. He was born on March 17, 1958 in Oak Park, IL, the son of the late Edwin and Marlene (Thiessen) Kirchner. In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Klosterman.

He is survived by his three siblings, Eric Kirchner, Lori Erion and Sue (Luis) Martinez; nieces and nephews, Todd Erion, April Erion and Dr. Nicole Martinez; great-niece, Bexley Erion and numerous extended family and dear friends.

Ken enjoyed attending concerts, bought and fixed electric guitars and all-around loved music. He liked going scuba diving in Jamaica and in his early years would travel a lot. He loved to be the light in the room with his funny and sarcastic personality. His passion for politics led to many heated debates and it will be a shame that he won’t be able to be here for this year’s election results. Ken might not have had his own wife and kids, but he made up for it through his close long-term friendships. Ken really enjoyed helping anyone no matter how big or small the task, he was dedicated to assisting those in need.

Something very near and dear to Ken’s heart was his dedication to recovery and Alcoholics Anonymous, and he will be dearly missed within their community. He also enjoyed volunteering for the non-profit FOA Families of Addicts.
