Kenneth G. Castor

Kenneth G. Castor, age 87, of Kettering, was received into paradise on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Kettering Hospital.

Kenneth is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: Reverend Kenneth R. (Becky) Castor of Sidney, Dennis M. (Lynn) Castor of Spring Valley; daughter: Penny McWilliams of Huber Heights; grandchildren: Ted (Vickie) Castor, Alma (Chris) Veldman, Tara Turner, Tyson (Lisa) Castor, Maggie Castor; 10 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Castor; grandson: Jacob Castor; father, Rilen Castor; mother, Minnie Castor; and brothers; Ralph and Floyd Castor.

Kenneth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Moraine. He was the past State Commander of the former Prisoner of War Organization and he was the founder and commander of the local chapter. A member of the VFW Post 9927, American Legion Post 598; DAV Post 5; Masonic Lodge 737 in West Carrollton; and Scottish Rite. Kenneth was a long time volunteer at the Dayton VA Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Road, with Pastor John Mittermaier officiating. Interment will follow the service at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville.

The family will receive friends from 11am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dayton VA Hospice.
