Kenneth E. Golden, 86, of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 while surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 27, 1927, in West Carrollton, Ohio to the late Carl and Bertha (Schoonover) Golden.
Kenneth was a WWII Army Veteran and graduate of the University of Dayton. He retired from TRW Globe Industries as the Manufacturing Manager. Kenneth was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Dayton Optimist Club. He was a pillar of strength to his friends and family and was beloved for his incredible generosity, bear hugs, huge smile, chili and egg nog.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters, Carl Jr, Virginia, Betty Lou, Rita Mae, Grace Joanne, Robert Lee, and James Arthur.
Kenneth is survived by his Wife of 60 years, Rosetta (Cohn) Golden; daughter, Sheri (Kas) Oganowski; step-son, Larry (Tammy) McNew; grandchildren, Kristen (Tim Redding) Oganowski ; Kellie (Jim) Bieser; Kinsey Oganowski; 4 step-grandchildren, Kas (Chris) Oganowski; Kate (Chris) Noelke, Chris McNew and Jennifer McNew; great-grandchildren, Miles, Alec and Eric Redding; Oliver, Noah and Annie Bieser; Kas, Cam, Marek and Rane Oganowski and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Friday, August 29, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton) where funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2014. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
