Kenneth Richard Dennis (Mickey), 85, formerly of Miamisburg, Ohio, went to be with The Lord on June 25, 2015, while living at Patriot Ridge Community in Fairborn, Ohio. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on June 13, 1930 to Edith (Hayth) and Henry Dennis.
Kenneth worked as a police officer for the Columbus, Ohio Police Department for a number of years as well as other jobs throughout his life. He served in the Korean War in the 1950's and was proud to be a veteran and serve his country. He was a diehard Ohio State Buckeyes fan and rarely missed watching or listening to their games. He also enjoyed the Cincinnati Reds and attended many of their games. He was a wonderful cook and prepared many a feast over the years for family, friends, and numerous church events. In earlier years, he was actively involved with his church at Sharon Woods Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio and most recently at First Church of God, Heincke Road, in Miamisburg, Ohio.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Brunton), daughters Peggy Matter, Lorrie Huber (Chuck), and Tina Adams (Ed); grandchildren Karen Garrison (Scott), Valerie Pickett, Kyle Pickett, and Kristen Kleman; and many other family and friends.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Edith (Hayth) and Henry Dennis; and sisters Lucille, Lillian, Edna, Evelyn, and Rosemary; granddaughter Angela Matter Smith .
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at First Church of God, (446 N Heincke Rd, Miamisburg, OH 45342). Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am with Pastor Roy Maxwell officiating at the church. Burial will follow the funeral at the Dayton Veterans Administration Cemetery.
