Kendrick L. Leavenworth, age 49, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born February 7, 1965 in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada as Billy Sinclaire. At the age of four Billy was adopted by the family he came to know and love as his own, 'the Leavenworth's, of Bloomington, IL. Kendrick is survived by his father, Edgar K. Leavenworth, numerous sisters, brothers and cousins of Bloomington, IL, Mohamet, IL, and the Broken Head Ojibwa Nation of Manitoba, Canada. His loving wife, Ann R. Leavenworth son, Victor L. Leavenworth, stepsons, Frederick D. Elious of Beavercreek, OH, Gabriel (Michelle)Lewis of Fayetteville, N.C.. Kendrick was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Anne Levenworth of IL, sister Kimberly Sinclaire, and brother Carl Sincalire of the Boken Head Ojibwa Nation of Manitoba, Canada. Kendrick attended the Calvary Baptist Academy of Bloomington IL. And went on to become a warrior of the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Kendrick embraced his American Indian heritage of both the Ojibwa and Cree Nation. He was a Sundancer, a pipe carrier and followed the Red Road. During this time he was active with AIM (American Indian Movement) seeking the release for Leonard Peltier. After his many travels he came to the state of Ohio, where he married Ann Leavenworth and gained a loving family of three boys. Kendrick completed his journey on Turtle Island with a long and brave battle with Cancer. He never once lost faith or his love for Jesus Christ during his struggle. He is now a warrior in Gods army. Much love to the Creewarrior, a name he often used to display his strength, honor and love for, 'All his Relations'. A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of the celebration of life at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Dayton Vineyard Church 4051 Indian Ripple, Beavercreek, OH 45440 with inurnment immediately following at Dayton National Cemetery.
