Ken O'Dell

O'Dell, Kenneth E., "Ken," "Digger," age 70 of West Carrollton went to be with his Lord, Sunday, May 28, 2006. A 1953 graduate of Northridge HS, he worked over 21 years for NCR, sang with the Gospel Mariners for 4 years, and counseled countless families over 21 years at Miami Valley Memory Gardens and Newcomer Funeral Home. He was a current member of the New Hope Community Church, and a longtime servant of the Lord. Special thanks to the Thursday Morning Bible Study Group. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Sturdivant; father, Robert O'Dell, Sr.; special aunt Sarepta Fisher; sisters: Della DeBusk and Donna Schneider. He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Alice; children: Juanita Lynn (Paul) Hedrick, Karen Sue (Jeff) Sisco, Edward Alan (Marty Barnes) O'Dell; grandchildren: Paul Hedrick, Jason Hedrick, Craig Sisco, Brandon Whitmer, Jessica O'Dell, Joshua O'Dell, Jacob O'Dell; brother, Robert O'Dell; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be 5-8:00PM Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.). Funeral service will be 11:00AM Saturday, June 3, at the New Hope Community Church, 1999 Belvo Rd., Miamisburg, with additional visitation one hour prior to service; Joe Getts, officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken's memory to Cure Kidney Cancer Association, www.CureKidneyCancer.org.
