Kelly L. Vaughn

August 16, 1965 — December 15, 2024

West Carrollton

Kelly L. Vaughn, a cherished soul and beloved matriarch, departed this world on December 15, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on August 16, 1965, in Dayton, she wove a tapestry of love and laughter that forever enriched the lives of those around her.

Her role as a professional mother to all, Kelly exemplified a spirit of nurturing that transcended the definition of motherhood. Her loving and caring nature, combined with her delightful goofiness and infectious sense of humor, made her the beating heart of her family. Whether she was making holiday magic or hosting family gatherings, Kelly had a unique gift for creating moments that would be treasured forever. She will be remembered not only for her warmth but also for her ability to bring people together, establishing deep bonds that will endure in the hearts of her loved ones.

A true fan of storytelling, Kelly found joy in watching "ER" and "The Waltons," often drawing parallels between the shows and her own life experiences, which she lovingly recounted to family. She had an extraordinary ability to find happiness in the little things and infused even the simplest moments with laughter and joy.

As the family gathers to celebrate her life, they find comfort in knowing that she departed surrounded by her loving family, a testament to the strong connections she forged. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Kenny Vaughn, and their children: Allen (Miranda) Vaughn, Shelby Traywick, and Nick Vaughn. A proud grandmother, Kelly's heart swelled with love for her grandbabies, Sabrina (Tommy), Ashlyn, Shyanne, Jay, Jackson, Mason, and Grayson. Excitement also fills the air as they anticipate the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Everleigh Lynn.

Her warmth was complemented by strong familial bonds; her sisters, Sandy Copas and Cindy (Gene) Spillane, stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. The love extended to cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, all of whom felt the embrace of her generosity and kindness. Adding to her family was her beloved furbaby, Odie, who brought daily joy and companionship.

Kelly's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, including her cherished parents, Frank and Shirley Manning and in-law’s, Oden and Betty Vaughn including Oden’s first wife, Joanne Vaughn who preceded her in death. While they are no longer with us, their love and influence undoubtedly shaped Kelly into the remarkable woman she became.

In remembering Kelly L. Vaughn, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and joyful memories. Her spirit will continue to light the way for her family, reminding them to cherish each moment, to laugh often, and to love deeply. Rest in peace, dear Kelly; you will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered
