Kelly Douglas Binns, age 63 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born September 11, 1958 in Marion, Indiana to Duane and Mona Binns.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane Binns and Mona Kirker.

Kelly is survived his three Brothers, Kirby Binns, Kevin Binns and Kip Hamilton; his former wife, Connie Binns and her children, Geoffrey and Ashleigh; and mother-in-law, Judy Gaskill.

Kelly was a 1976 graduate of Eastern High School in Sardinia, Ohio and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served four years in the U.S. Army and then went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard in Aviation Maintenance, Air Crew, and a Rescue Swimmer. Kelly was very proud of his service in the Coast Guard. He had a lot of adrenaline that fueled his passion for rescuing people and jumping out of helicopters and planes.

He went on to volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. His claim to fame was being featured as a rescue diver in a James Bond movie. Upon his discharge from the Coast Guard, Kelly was employed with US Xpress for 25 years.

Kelly had big personality, a big heart, and a great sense of humor. He like to make a statement, especially with his vehicles and his wonderful sense of style. He loved being in and around water and his favorite place was the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He liked listening to music and talk radio, reading books, art, and watching the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals. He was a wonderful step-father to his step-children and loved his dog, Kobe. Kelly will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
