Keith Joseph Benedict, age 80, of Dayton, passed away on Friday April 1, 2011. He was born on September 14, 1930 in Columbiaville, MI, to the late George and Julia Benedict. In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by two sisters; Hazel and Cecilia; and his brother, Frederick.
Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Hester Benedict; 10 children, Brenda Anderson, Mike (Barbara) Benedict, Bill (Debbie) Benedict, JoAnn (Edward) Gottshall, Terri (Mark) Baynum, Mark (Vicki) Lindon, Scott Lindon, Leasa (Bruce) Osborne, DeeDee (Jeff) Coffey and Andy Lindon; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; nephew, Maxxie Rice; niece Judy (Barrie) Barber; numerous other family members and good friends.
Keith honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. He served as Commander of the AM Vet Post 33, and also as District Commander. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy and the other nurses at Spring Creek Nursing Home, along with Wanda at Dayton Regional Dialysis and VITAS Hospice, for their loving care and support to Keith during his time of need.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 9, 2011 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior from 11:00am-12:00pm.
