Keenam Kim

Keenam Kim, 80 years old, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, in her home. She was born on August 30, 1932 in Seoul, Korea to Jonghyun Chung and Taehan Noh. Mrs. Kim is survived by her husband, Teck Kwan, of 56 years and their four children, the eldest Mihyun and her husband, Jong Sup Hwang, followed by Miae and her husband Urs Thomas, Namhyung Kim and his wife Youngmi, Namhoon Kim and his wife Min Jeong. She is also survived also by her sister, Soonduk Chung, and her nine grandchildren, Chrystal and her husband Eric Gundersen, Esther, Jane, and Amy Hwang, Uriel, Adriel, and Daniel Kim, and Emily Kim. Mrs. Kim was a curious woman who was passionate about learning. She attended the University of Dayton and could speak 5 different languages: Korean, Japanese, English, French and Spanish. Besides being a lifelong student she was a selfless and loving mother--sacrificing her needs for those of her children as well as acting as a friend and confident. Though she is no longer with us in body, the legacy she has left behind will never be forgotten.

The visitation will be held at five o'clock to eight o'clock in the evening on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.) with the Viewing Service at six thirty in the evening. The Funeral Service will be held on at nine thirty in the morning Monday, November 26, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home with Pastor Soo Kwang Kim officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
