Kathy L. Jewell

April 25, 1956 — February 18, 2025

New Carlisle, Ohio

Kathy L. Jewell, a quiet and kind-hearted soul, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, after a life full of rich experiences and deep love. Born on April 25, 1956, in Dearborn, Michigan, Kathy became a source of strength and support to those around her throughout her remarkable journey.

Her life was defined by her commendable service in the U.S. Air Force, where she spent 26 years dedicating herself to her country, earning respect and admiration along the way. Kathy's military journey took her to various places, including a notable stint in England and Korea, where her call sign, Glenda, was known among her peers. Much of her career was spent at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where she carried out her duties with unwavering dependability.

Kathy was more than her service; she was a devoted mother who regarded her children as her proudest accomplishments. She poured every ounce of love into raising Katrina Jewell (Jeremy North), David Jewell Jr., and Kari Albright (Jacob). Always putting their needs before her own, Kathy’s selfless acts and nurturing spirit underscored the incredible bond she shared with her family. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandson, Kain Moses, and the anticipated arrival of her granddaughter, Isabelle.

Outside of her military and familial dedication, Kathy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a passionate fan of hockey, proudly supporting the Red Wings with enthusiasm. Music was also a vital part of her life; her love for Classic Rock filled her home with energy and nostalgia. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed immersing herself in books and indulging in video games, reveling in the worlds they offered.

Kathy's personality was characterized by her quiet strength and compassion. Known for being reserved yet always looking out for others, she left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Many will remember her as a kind and caring individual, someone who was always there to offer support and love, no matter the circumstance.

Kathy is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and brother, William Beinart, alongside many cherished nieces and nephews: Christine, Charles, Jennifer, Steven, and Christopher, and a host of other family members and friends who were fortunate to know her. She is preceded in death by her devoted parents, Harry and Ila Beinart, and her brother, Walter Beinart.

As we reflect on Kathy’s life, we remember not only her accomplishments and passions but also her unwavering love and support for her family. Kathy will be dearly missed, but her spirit of kindness and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Kathy will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery at a later date.
