Kathy was employed with the City of Xenia as a finance clerk in the City Tax office until her retirement. Prior to that she worked at Lang's Chevrolet as a receptionist and clerk, and for many years worked part-time for H & R Block in Xenia. After retirement she volunteered with Xenia Community Schools until 2020, first at Simon Kenton and then at Arrowood, working with 3rd graders then 1st graders in a reading program for struggling students. She was a member of Bethel Community Church in Xenia for about 50 years. She was actively involved in the church's women's group, part of the choir/praise team and had various other positions within the church over the years. In her free time Kathy enjoyed reading, word searches, gardening, cooking, baking, spending time with her family and loved watching sports, especially when her grandsons played. Kathy was an avid sports fan, especially football and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Notre Dame and Green Bay Packers, but watched any game on television. Kathy loved the holidays, especially Christmas and would deck the house with hundreds of Santa Clauses, Snowmen, gnomes, Nativity sets and lots of other decorations. She also loved to travel, to Ohio Amish, visiting family in the finger lakes region of New York and to warmer areas of the country during the colder weather.
Kathy was the ultimate Momma Bear with her family. She was sensitive to others and always sent cards to people with words of encouragement. She was a good listener and always had great advice and scripture. Her favorite line to all of us was I have scripture for that.
