Jimmie Kathryn Woods Morgan, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 1st, 2020 in Dayton, OH. She is survived by her three children: Steve Morgan of Dayton; Melissa Morgan (Kelly) DeWine of Dayton; Janice Morgan (Dan) Prickett of Atlanta, GA; along with 4 grandchildren: Jonathan Prickett of Austin, TX, Kathryn Prickett of Nashville, TN, Kyle DeWine of Cincinnati, OH, and Shawn DeWine of Dayton. Nieces and Nephews: Marilyn Sager Herrera Blankenship of Water Valley; Kevin, Gail, and Jackson Herrera of Water Valley; Donna Morgan Edge of Monona, WI; Ed Morgan of Dodgeville, WI; Jerry, Rex, and Morgan Jenkins of Water Valley, and Clark Jenkins of Terry, MS.
Jimmie Kathryn was born in Water Valley on May 8th, 1926 to Lucy Young Woods and James Moore Woods. She graduated from Water Valley High School in 1944 and attended Mississippi State College for Women. She married Stanley Eugene Morgan of Water Valley on September 22nd, 1946. They were married for 53 years until his passing on Christmas Eve, 1999.
Jimmie Kathryn loved Water Valley! She made it to Carnival and WVHS Reunions, every year she was able, and faithfully read the Herald every week! Throughout her life she enjoyed golf, working in the yard, sewing, bowling, bridge, and water aerobics. She was a member of the Miamisburg Christian Church, and maintained lifelong friendships with her Water Valley childhood friends.
When travel permits, the family will have a private graveside service in Water Valley, MS.
