Kathryn Lay

LAY, Kathryn, age 90, of Beavercreek, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. She was born on December 10, 1924 to the late Esco and Maggie (Kemp) Reese. She married Carl Lay on May 11, 1951. To this union were born sons, Jon C. Lay and Jason K. (Kimberly) Lay. In addition to her sons, she is survived by her grandchildren, Adam, Megan, and Natalie Lay; 4 nephews, John (Gerry) Powell, Avery Reese Powell, Al (Doris) Reese, and Gerome Payne.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Lay; brothers, Almer and Russell Reese; sisters, Ruth Powell, Lois Meece, and Evelyn Rich. She was a graduate of George Peabody College for teachers in Nashville, TN. Kathryn taught for 13 years.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2015 with a service following at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or a charity of your choice.
