Kathleen Ivy Hook (Dalton), age 72, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away on October 12, 2024, from an unexpected diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 11, 1952, in Oberlin, Ohio.
Kathy was a graduate of Western Reserve High School, class of 1970. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cedarville College, class of 1975. After college, she chose to stay in Southern Ohio, married and had one son, Brandon Hook. She started and ended her 40+ year career at Elano in Beavercreek, Ohio. Kathy loved her family, pets, playing puzzles and watching NASCAR. She was also an avid reader, bowler and enjoyed cross-stitch and sewing in her spare time, along with a zest for collecting. For the past 25 years, she resided in Xenia with her partner, Richard "Dick" Hill.
She is survived by one son, Brandon (Stephanie) Hook, of Miamisburg, Ohio; partner, Richard Hill of Xenia, Ohio; her mother, Jane (Forney Temm) Dalton; two brothers, Kenneth Dalton and Kevin Dalton; multiple nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Dalton and sister-in-law, Sandy Dalton.
Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio). A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Wakeman Township Cemetery (5431 OH-303, Wakeman, Ohio 44889) with Pastor Bill Kopas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center (8172 Washington Church Road, Dayton, Ohio 45458) or VFW Post 8312 Beavercreek Memorial Post (2389 Dayton-Xenia Road, Dayton, Ohio 45434).
