Kathleen Marie Burton

Kathleen Marie Burton, age 76 of Dayton, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. She was born October 3, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Willard and Lucille (Smith) Nelson. In 1966 she graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School. She was registered with Sharkey Modeling Agency and studied at International College of Broadcasting in earlier years. She had been a loyal and devoted member of AA since 1976 where she was one of the first active women and started many meetings.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Amanda Dipietro; former husband, John Burton; step-daughter, Carolyn Burton Cox; step-son, Jim Burton; brother-in-law, Dale Kelley; nephew, Matt Kelley; niece, Beth Escudaro (Ezra); cousins, Susan Nelson, Sarah Nelson, Carla Nelson, Nancy Sellman, Zack Sharif (Yasmin) and many other cousins and friends.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Karen Kelley (Dale).

A private memorial gathering will be planned at a later date for family and friends.
