It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Kathleen Susan Boske of Centerville, Ohio on April 3, 2021. Kathie was surrounded with love and compassion from her family; children Jim, Tammi, Kristin, son-in-law Steve & grandchildren: Bethany (Mark), Ashley (Scott), Kelly (Mark), Joshua (Sharlyn), Cody (Ashley) & Marissa and 12 great-grandchildren. We are especially grateful for her family at Sycamore Glen who were steadfast in their care these past 13 months when she was isolated from her family and friends. There is an immense feeling of pride when looking back on the positivity Mother embraced during her time at Sycamore Glen. She took advantage of the many activities and, by the parade of people who came to say goodbye, we know she was well loved by so many which allowed for her to pass with peace and contentment.
She was so very proud of being born in the city of Chicago at Norwegian American Hospital on Jan 21, 1943, spending her early years in the neighborhood of Division & California, and then moving to Northlake in 1953. After skipping the 6th grade, Mother went on to receive a scholarship to attend the prestigious Trinity High School where she graduated in 1960. Her intelligence made her a serious adversary in the game of trivia.
On May 27, 1961, she married our father, James William Boske who left us too soon on March 24, 1999. Our parents lived across the street from one another and had a love that was unmatched. Memories of our parents dancing together will certainly be cherished. They had so many escapades from Vegas, Chicago, horse races, football games, baseball games, and all the good time parties in between.
Mother adored all her brothers and sisters-in-law as if her own, and most especially her beloved 13 nieces and nephews. She was such a proud aunt and loved to hear of their accomplishments, the lives they had built, see pictures, and hear all the updates of the goings on. Mother took such joy in attending all the baptisms, graduations, and weddings.
Our mother was everyone's friend, the life of the party, and never met a stranger. She was living testimony on how to live your life with a grateful heart and shared so much love. We were blessed to have her as our mother and yet we know she had a place in the hearts of many others. Some special friends include but are certainly not limited to, her best-friends Steve & Patti Taulbee, her Teradata family including Henry & Cathy McLain, her special friend Shalonda, her recent roommate Barb and all of her pals at Sycamore Glen for their caring support of our mother.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are having a private graveside service with immediate family only. We do ask one thing of those who would wish to honor her; when the time comes and you gather with your family and friends, raise a glass with your favorite beverage, hers would have been a tall Jack & Diet, and toast the wonderful person who was Kassie LaVoy, Kath, Mother, Ma, Mom, Non, Grandma, Aunt Kathie, and friend.
