Kathleen Lavon Anderson

Kathleen Lavon Anderson, age 78, of Kettering, passed away November 15, 2022. She was born August 21, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Howard and Marjorie Wendling. In addition to her parents, Cathie was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Brandenburg Willett; brothers: William Wendling and Timothy Wendling; sisters: Joanne Manning, Mitzie Miller, Suzanne Allen and Sandra Scott; and step-daughter, Michelle Young.

Cathie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Winston Anderson; children: Carey Huckvale, Scott Brandenburg and Steve Brandenburg; step-children: Nancy Mann, Neil Anderson and Vanessa Anderson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn O'Leary; brothers: Michael Wendling and Daniel Wendling; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cathie worked at Kettering Hospital for 35 years. She was a volunteer clown known as "Which Way" with the Anything But Serious Clown Troop at Kettering Hospital for many years. Cathie loved having hat parties as "Katy-Did". She was very involved in her church, Shroyer Road Baptist Church, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Campfire Girls, E-Ketts Drill Team, Dayton Musicians Club and Queen of Apostles Community. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, country music, gardening and entertaining. More than anything, Cathie loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday.
