Katherine B. Massie

Katherine B. Massie, age 93 of Chillicothe, OH formerly of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She was born December 5, 1924 in Stamping Ground, Kentucky to Luke and Cleo Towles.
Katherine retired from Rike's Department Store and also worked at Elder Beerman's. She was a member of the Corinth Boulevard United Presbyterian Church in Dayton and actively volunteered with the church. Katherine loved animals and enjoyed walking her granddogs Chelsea and Casey. She loved to travel and visited Australia, Monaco, Hawaii and Europe. Katherine loved to garden and grew lettuce, tomatoes and onions for family and friends. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Katherine is survived by her two daughters, Judi Runner and Brenda (Russ) Mears; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Teresa (Kathleen) and Jason Runner and Andrew (Lisa) Mears, Bryan (Dana) Mears, Julie Roberts and Johnathan (Leslie) Mears; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Massie; her parents; son in laws Butch Runner and Richard Egan; a granddaughter, Renee Mears.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 West Whipp Rd, Dayton, OH 45459.
