Karen L. Wissinger, aged 76 of Beavercreek OH, passed away on April 27, 2024. Originally from Clarksburg, WV, Karen then moved to Dayton, Ohio and attended Patterson Co-op. She was the daughter of Gene Nichols and Phyllis Fuller (Snyder), who preceded Karen in death. Karen was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John R. Wissinger in 2019, and by her son Christopher M. Wissinger in 2020.
Karen is survived by her loving daughter Judy (Jason) Manz and daughter in law Laura Wissinger. She had 6 grandchildren: Miranda (Jon) Anderson, Marissa (Brian) Tolle, Peyton Kocevar, Emerson Manz, Abigail Manz, and Cameron Manz. She was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren: Brennan Tolle, Owen Anderson, and Lincoln Manz. She is also survived by her sister Debbie (Carl) Tignor, and too many loved cousins, nieces and nephews to list.
Karen was a member of The United Christian Church, and she was also active in the Greater Dayton Emmaus Community. She, along with her husband John, were members of GWRRA, where they enjoyed motorcycle rides and organizing charity events. They also volunteered for Team Greyhound of Dayton where they fostered retired racing dogs and helped them find their forever homes. She loved going to festivals and fairs, probably to get her favorite thing, sugar waffles. Karen's favorite careers were working as an Account Receivable Manager at Seibenthaler's Nursery and driving a school bus for Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The knowledge she was able to impart, the advice and encouragement always offered, the countless stories that were told, the crafts and puzzles put together, and most importantly the love shared, has paid off in indelible and infinite dividends. Her legacy will be one of faithfulness, generosity, and service to God and others.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Oak Creek Terrace and Day City Hospice. They were a huge support for Karen as well as the family during her transition.
The family will receive friends at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 for a viewing May 19th, 2024 at 1:30PM- 3:00PM with a celebration of life immediately following. The family will then on May 20, 2024, place her to rest in a private ceremony.
