Karen Wendling Reichard

Karen Wendling Reichard, age 73, of Riverside, passed away February 15, 2025. She was born July 19, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Paul and Cecilia Wendling. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her son, Harley Crutchfield III; and brother, Christopher John Wendling.

Karen is survived by her children: Kristen Blanton and Dustin Crutchfield; grandchildren: Haley Miller (Garrett), Christopher Bledsoe, Austin Bledsoe, Cameron Blanton and Francesca Blanton; great-grandchildren: Landon and Ariana; brothers and sisters: Michael Wendling (Debbie), Patrick Wendling (Linda), Wendy Jennings (Ken), Kathleen Lindenberg, Paul Wendling Jr., Geraldine Nevius (Paul), Joseph Wendling (Colleen) and Amy Sedler (Harry); numerous of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Karen retired from the U.S. Post Office after 35 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and attended school there. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Karen loved the beach, loved to travel, but most of all she loved to talk and tell stories about what it was like growing up. She was a great cook and was a good sport whenever her family would tell her how terrible her food was (even though they ate every bite.) Karen had a heart of gold, always helping those in need. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Avenue, Dayton.  Father Kyle Schnippel, Celebrant.
