Karen Sue Mathis

Karen Sue Mathis, age 73, of Dayton, passed away July 27, 2023 at Trinity Health Care. Karen was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 25, 1950 to the late Robert and Ruth Bostwick.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gary and Rodney Bostwick; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Pearl Mathis.
Karen is survived by her husband of 32 years, Del; step-daughter, Rachelle (Dane) Hoyt; step-son, Ryan (Kelly) Mathis; grandchildren, Sophia Mathis, Cameron Mathis and Kristopher Hoyt; brothers, Ron (Sue) and Mike Bostwick; and her sister, Kristi (Mark) Fisher.
Karen retired in 2000 from Delco as an Ergonomic Consultant. She was a member of the Beavercreek Moose Lodge #73. She enjoyed traveling to the beach and playing euchre. Karen was energetic and up for anything. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Donations may be made in Karen's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (200 Vesey Street, 28th Floor New York, NY 10281) or Ohio's Hospice (7575 Paragon Rd, Dayton, OH 45459).
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 12:00pm. Karen will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
