Karen G. Engleman, age 73 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ann (Green) Shafer; infant brother, Terry Shafer; brother, Donald Shafer.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Engleman; daughter, Christal (Doug) Beabout; grandchildren, David (Ann) Beabout, Megan (Dr. Brandon) Weeks, Robert Lee, Angela and Maria Beabout; 3 sisters including special sister, Connie Foster; great-grandchildren, Chase and Tessa Weeks; numerous family and friends.
Karen was an avid gardener and enjoyed anything with a needle and thread. She was extremely crafty.
Her family and home was everything to Karen. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.
"I can't promise that I will be here for the rest of your life, but I can promise you that I will love you forever." These were Karen's words to her daughter during her illness.
We will miss you always.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patrick Allan and the staff in the Acute Care Unit at Grandview Hospital for their care and compassion.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, in Karen's memory.
