Kalesha Renee Scott, a vibrant and passionate advocate for change in higher education, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on October 13, 1997, Kalesha was a remarkable individual whose dedication to uplifting others shone brightly throughout her life.

Kalesha devoted her career to working as a retention coordinator in higher education, where she tirelessly strived to create opportunities for students to succeed. Her educational journey began at Central State University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, followed by a Master's degree in Public Administration from Wright State University. These academic achievements laid the foundation for her unwavering commitment to advocating for the success of students.

Known for her loyalty and passion, Kalesha was a loving and giving person who approached life with a determined spirit. Her infectious smile had the remarkable ability to light up any room, reflecting her role as a born leader and dependable friend. Kalesha was also a true God-fearing woman whose faith played a central role in her life, and she found a spiritual home at Abundant Life Christ Centered Ministries in Trotwood.

Kalesha's interests were diverse, encompassing a deep love for celebrating the achievements of others, shopping, and enjoying binge-worthy television shows. Politics were a passionate pursuit for her, as she worked to make a meaningful difference in her community. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother to her sons, Henry M. Warren, IV and Hunter M. Warren, ensuring that they were surrounded by love and support.

Kalesha leaves behind a loving network of family and friends who will forever treasure her memory. She is survived by her fiancé, Henry M. Warren, III; her mother, Kris (Jay C.) Jones; her brothers, Michael D. Brown, DeAndre D. Jones, Verdre L. Scott, Jr., Jason C. Jones, Jr., and Justin M. Jones; her sisters, Jalyn M. Jones, Calleia Scott, Ashley Scott, Tamaria Scott, and Timia Scott; her grandmothers, Patricia A. Brown and Martha (Eddie Burnett) Scott; her grandfather, Bennie Scott; as well as her beloved dogs, Jefe', Nova, and Kali. Kalesha also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends who were fortunate to know her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Verdre L. Scott, Sr., and her brother, Kenyon R. Moon, Jr., as well as her grandfather, Richard L. Brown, Sr. Their spirits will undoubtedly join Kalesha in watching over the loved ones she leaves behind.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10-11am at Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church, 3701 Salem Ave, Dayton, OH 45406. The service will follow at 11am.

Kalesha Renee Scott’s impact on her community and those who knew her will be felt for years to come. Her legacy of love, fun, and relentless pursuit of change will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.
