Kaleb Edward Douglas Carlton

Kaleb Edward Douglas Carlton, age 19 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on Saturday, November 26th, 2022. Kaleb was born on March 16th, 2003 to Chad Carlton and the late Rhonda Self. In addition to his beloved mother Rhonda, Kaleb was preceded in death by grandfathers Jewell Edward Self and Douglas Carlton.

Kaleb was truly loved by so many for his kind and generous spirit, as well as his goofy, unfiltered personality. He absolutely adored his family and would give anything for his friends. Anyone who met Kaleb couldn't forget him simply because his demeanor was always so joyful. He took great pride in and was skilled at his work in HVAC. He grew very close to several of his teachers throughout various programs. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time, even doing nothing at all, with those he loved. Everyone was family to Kaleb.

Kaleb is survived by his father Chad Carlton; siblings: Kynadee Carlton and Kira (Mike) Taylor, and Eli Burke, as well as Kaia and Ella Amos; nephew: Banner; his grandmothers: Mamaw Pat Self, Nana Shirley Carlton, and great-grandmother Jessie Carlton; aunts and uncles: Amanda (Dave) Carlton, Nathan Carlton, Vickie (Mike) McMahan, and Carrie (David) Owens; numerous cousins and too many dear friends to count.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kaleb's name via GoFundMe (Memorial for Kaleb Carlton) that will go towards funeral expenses and a memorial award honoring Kaleb in the HVAC program at Stebbins High School.

Kaleb's family would like to offer the opportunity for cards, letters, or photos to be buried with him. If you would like to do so, please bring those items to the visitation or service on Monday.

A visitation commemorating Kaleb's short but full life will be held at Way of the Cross Church, 612 Beatrice Drive, Dayton, OH 45424, on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Funeral service officiated by Michael Green, Mike Taylor, and Jim Coppersmith will begin at 12:00pm. Kaleb will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 W National Road, New Carlisle, OH 45344.
