June Ruiz, age 83, of St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community in Centerville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, December 14, 2019.
She was born November 1, 1936 in Rice, Texas to the late Robert E. and Lois (Chenault) Forrester. She grew up on a farm in Prairie Hill, Texas and graduated from Coolidge High School. June attended the Daughters of Charity Saint Vincent de Paul School of Nursing at Providence Hospital in Waco,Texas graduating in 1957
In 1958 she met and married Aristeo "John" Ruiz in Austin, Texas. Alongside her husband while supporting his Naval career she worked full time in her nursing profession and raised 4 daughters. When in Dayton she worked at Kettering Hospital followed by Miami Valley Hospital. She retired in 1995 after 40 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Aristeo "John" Ruiz, her daughter, LuAnn, her grandson, James and brother, Bob Forrester.
June is survived by her daughters, Terri (John R.) Capurro, Becky (Chris) McFarland, Susan (Ghassan) Abuasba; grandchildren, John David (Katie) Durnbaugh, Eric Ruiz, Jenni Capurro, Tony (Sarah) Capurro, Lauren (Rebecca) Bickford, Conor Bickford, Iman (Sherif) Abuasba , Naser and Ahmed Abuasba; great granddaughters, Kylie and Charlotte Durnbaugh and Naomi Capurro and soon to be great grandson, Omar Sherif Tawfiq. June is also survived by her brother, Ray (Linda) Forrester, a host of nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 3:30 pm until time of Funeral Liturgy at 5:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, with Fr. Robert Waller officiating.
