In 1958 June graduated from Stivers Highschool (Stivers School for the Arts). After highschool, June proceeded to a career of Administrative Assistance which drew her right back to her roots. She served as a Clerical Professional for the Dayton Public Schools until her retirement in 2006. She began serving in the individual schools until she was promoted to working at the Board of Education and found a home and a calling working in the Fine Arts department. In this role she excelled and formed a deep connection with music and arts.
She served in several extracurricular roles extending her free time to serve the schools and students as support for Dayton Public Schools, annual Solo and Ensemble Competition as well as the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) yearly conferences and competitions serving as a judge and organizational staff.
From an early age June enjoyed learning to bowl and went on to compete in state bowling tournaments, following in the footsteps of her family and brother. A sport in which they all shared in great success, and shared fond memories of Capri Lanes.
You could always count on being greeted with a big personality, and an even bigger smile. Her kind nature made her a friend to many. She deeply enjoyed a good card game, keeping up with solving the Wheel-of-Fortune puzzles, dinners with family and close friends, and her monthly birthday group celebrations with the girls! These times of joy, laughter, and always a warm embrace are the gifts that she gave to each of us to carry on.
At this time, the family wishes to thank the dedicated, caring, and selfless staff of Friendship Village Living Community.
