June Dolores Dalrymple, born October 24, 1936, passed away August 25, 2024, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Brock(d) and Grace (Shumace) Conner(d), Wife of Robert S. Dalrymple(d), Mother and Mother-in-Law of Ron and Laurie Brown, Vickie and Brady Briem, Denise and John Klima, Eric and Janet Dalrymple, Brian Brown(d), Randy Brown(d); Grandmother of 17; Great Grandmother of 29; and Great Great Grandmother of 2.
We are honoring our beautiful, loving, encouraging, and selfless Mother, June D. Dalrymple (affectionately known as Gram Dally and GiGi by her grandbabies, and those that were not even family)!! That being said June never considered anyone a stranger, and whether you were wrong or right, she would find a way to make you feel loved. The word we hear most to describe her is “sweet”. The most recalled memories seem to be how she would hold your hand and listen intently to whatever was on your mind.
June was the final surviving child of Brock and Grace Conner’s 7 children. She was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and later her parents settled in Lima, OH. She married Ronald Franklin Brown(d) and raised Ronnie, Randy(d), Vickie, and Brian(d), mostly as a single parent. She later married her high school sweetheart, Robert S. Dalrymple(d) who added 2 more children, Denise and Eric, bringing the total siblings to 6. Our family was enormous, and we looked forward to those family holidays always together with the Conner Klan.
While raising her 4 children, June worked at South Side Savings and Loan, later renamed Liberty Savings. She was such a staple there that Management never minded all the children popping in after school to say HI!! Our friends considered her a mother as well! Son-in-law and daughter-in-law weren’t considered in-laws, but simply son and daughter.
Being a single working mother never stopped her from attending all our sporting and recreational activities. June’s faith was extremely important to her as well. She was a devoted member of many different churches and seemed to be president of every club she joined in every community she lived.
To say my brother, Ronnie and I will miss her is an understatement. Her world revolved around family and making sure people felt loved. She felt strongly that life was too short for regrets and grudges. We hope everyone who loved her will carry on her legacy.
