June Craft Black, born January 12, 1928, died March 2, 2024, age 96, in Beavercreek, Ohio. A native of Chattaroy, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Maxine Farley Craft.
A graduate of Williamson High School, Williamson, West Virginia, and St. Mary's School of Nursing, Huntington, West Virginia. She was a Registered Nurse, having worked in many fields of nursing. Licensed to practice nursing in West Virginia, Texas and Ohio. The last position she held was an Elementary School Nurse in the Klein Independent School district in Houston, Texas. This happened to be her favorite field of nursing as she was a lover of children. She was also an Honorary Kentucky Colonel and was of the Methodist faith.
She loved traveling: having traveled in all the states and Europe, the British Isles, Spain, Portugal, Africa, Panama Canal, Aruba, U.S. Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
Survived by one son, G. Thomas Black, and his wife, Margie; three grandchildren, Heidi Black, Julie Black and Wesley Black. She was preceded in death by one brother, Colonel George E. Craft.
A Celebration of June's Life will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00pm, at Fairhaven Church Beavercreek Campus Office, 3255 Seajay Drive, Beavercreek (around the corner to the right of Wild Axe Throwing). Please contact Tom or Margie to RSVP.
