Julie Kay (Gyori) Jernigan, age 63 of Dayton, passed away peacefully October 21, 2019. after several years of ill health.
Julie was a spirited person throughout her life, a many-talented and loving woman. Growing up on the West Side of Dayton, she attended grade school at Resurrection and later Saint Albert's parishes, then high school at Altar and Fairmont. She was proud of her Hungarian heritage, especially baking and cooking her ethnic specialities. Julie enjoyed knitting, played piano, sang with a beautiful voice, and had an amazing way with all animals.
She was born June 4, 1956 in Dayton to the late Alex and Aurelia "Lalee" Gyori. In addition to her parents, Julie was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine, and her beloved son, Daniel (Hrachovina).
She leaves behind her partner, Mark Bridges; daughter, Nicole, grandson, Dominic Joseph; brother, Alex Gyori (wife, Dawne); sister, Marilyn Becht (husband, Jeff); niece, Jessica Becht and nephews, Sasha and Liam Gyori; four grandnephews and grandniece, various cousins, including Jane Hergo, and very importantly, her cherished pet, Suzy.
Family will receive guests from 12:30-1:30pm Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home – KETTERING Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30 pm Thursday. Calvary Cemetery, Dayton will serve as Julie's final resting place at a later date.
