Julia Sanders was born on October 14, 1933 to the late Fletcher and Frances Sanders. Julia transitioned from this world on January 27, 2024 at 90 years old.
From Birmingham, Alabama to Dayton,Ohio in the early 1950's. She became a cook in many establishments, Shrimp Boat, G&L Restaurant, and the Bicycle Club to name a few. She loved watching soap operas and being around family.
In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death by her brothers: Fletcher Jr (Doddie) and Abe Sanders; sister, Frances Shepherd; and great grand daughter, Danielle McIntosh.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Diana Jackson; grandchildren: Meco Jackson and Lawrence Jackson II (Toni); great grandchildren: Angel (DaShar) Holloway, Lawrence (Moniquea) Jackson III, Kenneth (Chris) McIntosh II, Bryanna (Marcus) Martin, Julieanna (Darius) Jordan, Diana (TJ) Jackson, and Preston (Ali) McIntosh; 11 great great grandchildren; brothers: Willie "Red" Sanders and Dwayne (Kim) Sanders; sisters: Gladys (Bill) Zackary, Spring Curtiss, Rosemarie (Darrell) Slaughter; uncle, Tom Patterson; as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus daughters, and friends. She was known by a lot of names, Mama, Grandma, Gram, Honeysweet, Honey, Sugar, and Aunt Julia. She may be gone but never forgotten.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 23, 2024 at 1:00pm at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Ave, Dayton. A repast will immediately follow the graveside service at Dayton Firefighters Activity Center, 3616 Needmore Road, Dayton, 45424.
