Judy Cochran

March 1, 1944 — November 3, 2024

Oregonia

Julia “Judy” (nee Jackson) Cochran passed away peacefully at the Bickford Memory Care Unit in Middletown, OH. Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Cochran.

Judy was born on March 1, 1944 to Takayuki Yaokawa  Sato Jr. and Julie “Jean” Jackson. She was born in Little Rock, AR, and spent her early years living with her grandparents, James and Mary Alice Tharp. Judy picked cotton on the family farm where she learned at an early age the value of a hard day’s work. Judy lived in Germany at the age of 12 with her mother and stepfather, Charlie Jackson when he was stationed with the military. She met her first husband at the age of 17 and returned to Arkansas in 1962 where she had her first daughter, Kathryn Kelly of Springfield, MO. The family moved to Georgia where Judy gave birth to her second daughter, Rose (Terry) Klein, of Monticello, FL. Judy relocated to Dayton OH where she had her son, Anthony “Tony” (Julie Steele) Finfrock. Shortly after Tony’s birth, Judy met her soulmate / husband, John Cochran. Judy and John opened a small upholstery shop in Indian Lake, OH and worked side by side upholstering boats and customizing vehicles. The two had a great reputation for the quality of work they produced.

Judy also loved to cook true Southern food, as most of her six grandchildren can attest, it usually meant “butter makes everything better”. Judy loved her six grandchildren, Richard Paul of Richardson, TX, Brenden (Kimberly) Finfrock of Raeford, NC, Adam Rahman of Minneola, FL, Angel Rahman of Richardson, TX, Briana Finfrock of Columbus, OH and Blake Finfrock of Vandalia, OH. Judy spent a lot of time between Florida and Ohio being torn between her love of family and ocean. Judy also had a deep love for her dog, Tippy and her cat, Blue.
