Judith Swigart

April 3, 1939 — January 7, 2022

Judith R. Swigart (Judy) 82 of Centerville joyously entered the gates of Heaven on January 7th, 2022 in the comfort of her home, after defying terminal cancer for nearly two decades.

Judy was born on April 3rd, 1939. She graduated from Centerville High School, together with her best friends, in the class of 1957. She married the love of her life on February 7th, 1960 and started growing her family. Judy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Miami Valley School of Nursing. Her caring bedside manner was found at both Kettering and Sycamore Hospitals during her long career.

Judy was the lover of commotion, creator of chaos, the embodiment of 'the more the merrier', our adventure instigator, a boundary breaker and our safe haven. Next to her nursing career, she was a homemaker, bus driver, and a foster mother. She was the oldest of twelve siblings, mother to her four children, Grandma Goose to her thirteen grandchildren and Great Grandmother to her five (plus two on the way) great grandchildren. She was spontaneous, tough as nails, accepting of everyone and the center of our family. She was a true matriarch and will be greatly missed by many.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Art and Clara Rineer and her brother Gary Rineer.

Her beauty of life is carried on by her devoted husband Fred Swigart, children Teresa (Greg) Jones, Steven (Bridgette) Swigart, Christina (Tom) Closs, David (Christine Miller) Swigart and siblings Dan (Ginny) Rineer, Dale Rineer, Glen Rineer, Ted Rineer, Rick (Cathy) Rineer, Jack (Jill) Rineer, Jim Rineer, Debbie (Larry) Lindgren, Kathy (David) Paternite and Michael Rineer.

Her legacy continues to grow with the next generation of her Grandchildren Amy (Joep) de Vries, Ben (Karisa) Jones, Stephanie Swigart, Ryan Closs, Alexandra (Nick) Storer, Michael Closs, Jason Closs, Rachel (Kyle) Nichols, Lauren Closs, Nathan (Carey) Swigart, Josh Swigart, Samuel Swigart, and Anna Closs. Her memory will be carried on by her Great Grandchildren Lucas and Oliver de Vries, Noah and Clara Jones, and Maxwell Storer.

A celebration of life will be organized in this spring.
