Judith "Judy" Smith

Judith "Judy" Smith, age 81, of Dayton, passed away at Kettering Health Main Campus on July 21, 2024. Judy was born in Huntington, West Virginia on August 26, 1942 to Mamie and Ralph Mannon.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by husband of 21 years, Kennith Smith; daughter, Debra (John) Agresta; step-son, Dan Smith; step-son, Bill Elliott Jr.; grandchildren, Elijah (Maddie) Smith, John Agresta, Katherine Agresta, Emma Elliott, Alex Agresta; great-grandchild, Blakely Lynn Smith; siblings, Barbara (Jack) Shafer, Sharon (George) Theobald, Charlene (Bill) Childers and Danny Mannon; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and loving family members and friends. 

Judy graduated from Monroe High School, Class of 1960. She was very involved in Alumni activities and stayed in touch with many of her classmates. Judy retired from Armco/AK Steel after many years and continued to work at March of Dimes and Elder Beerman's. 

In her free time, she enjoyed line dancing, quilting; which she donated to nursing homes and many children, giving her time to those she loved, fishing with Kennith, having garage sales, listening to live music and spending time with family and friends. 

Judy was kind, loving, a great wife, mother and grandmother. She was generous and tried to help everyone around her. Judy was there for her friends in times of need. She was selfless and always put others before herself.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Judy will be laid to rest at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia.
