Judith "Judy" Demeter

Judy L. Demeter, 84, of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on February 24, 2025 surrounded by her family. She is proceeded in death by her parents (Glenna and Byron Richey), husband (Jack Demeter of 56 years), daughter (Kimberly Demeter Hinely, son-in-law Fred Hinely), brothers (David Richey and Myron Richey), sister-in-law (Patty Richey), brother-in-law (George Miller), and beloved nieces (Dawn Miller and Janie Shaw). 

She is survived by three children, son Stephen Demeter of Pensacola, FL, son George Demeter (Lisa) of Beavercreek, OH and daughter Lisa Demeter of Huber Heights, OH. Judy is also survived by her sister, Carroll Miller. Grandchildren include Derek Demeter, Daniel Demeter, Amanda Roberts, Seth Demeter, five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as her grand puppy Lucy.

Judy attended Patterson Co-op and was a proud member of DECA Inc. She worked for several years at Liberal grocery store and ComGeneral. She was an avid camper with the Bunghole Buddies. Her numerous other hobbies included ceramics, crocheting, crafting, and playing cards with her friends. Judy was a good friend to many and shared over 60 years of friendship and camaraderie with the same group of women.

Special thanks to the Kettering Home Health Team: Lori, Russ, and John. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Judy. Our family is very grateful. We would also like to thank Hospice of Dayton where she was comforted through the end of her days.

Family will greet visitors from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 5 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
