Juanita I. True, age 91 of Dayton, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 2, 2016. She was born in Liberty, KY to the late Bertha and Monroe True. Juanita married Ernest True in 1946 and they moved to Dayton a year into their marriage. Juanita worked as a secretary at Community United Methodist in Dayton, where she was also a member, for many years. She had a passion for music; singing in a gospel trio and the church choir, playing piano and organ.
She was a member of Eastern Star and an active member of the United Methodist Women. Juanita enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a caring and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Ernest True and brother, Kenneth True.
Juanita leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Carol (Steve) Diorio, Donna (Ellis) Willis, and Nita (Dan) Renfro; grandchildren, Steve, Jr., Todd, Elizabeth, Abigail, Zachary, James, Dawn, Heather, Anna; 7 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Juanita's life will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel. The family will greet friends and loved ones for two hours prior (12pm-2pm). Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Juanita's memory to Community United Methodist Memorial Fund or The Alzheimer's Association.
