Juanita R. Thorn

Juanita R. Thorn age 84 of Kettering passed away on Friday, August 29th, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Juanita was born in Alexandria, Indiana daughter of the late Louis Williams and Ardelia (Posten) Williams.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband John D. Thorn, daughter Marilyn and grandson Toby Allen.

Survived by daughters Linda (Richard) Nagel, Teresa Kinniard, Cynthia Senter, Jill (Terry) Lowman; sons Phil (Jenny) Thorn, Steve (Valerie) Thorn; grandchildren Angela, Rick, Sabra, David, Jamie, Shawn, Brianna, Nathan, Brandon, Caryl, Michelle, Kelly, Jessica, Katie, Maddie, Stephen, Josh, Morgan, Joshua, Jera; great-grandchildren Tim, Marilyn, Mackenzie, Brooklyn, Sophia, Levi, Jade, Kevin, Kamrynn, Colin, Gavin, Jackson, Ryleigh ; sisters Gladys Hull, Evelyn Williams and Joan Williams; sister-in-law Judith (David) Lamper; and numerous other family and friends.

Juanita was loved by all, a true gentle soul with the quiet strength to raise seven children. She loved family get-togethers, going to new places for dinner, shopping and her soap operas. She lived a life full of love and laughter.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 10-11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The service will follow at 11:00 am. She will be interred at Dayton National Cemetery with her husband, John.
