Juanita E. Walters
Age 71, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011, at The Hospice of Dayton.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth E. Walters, Sr.; two sisters, Patricia Ward & Kathy Dillon; and by two brothers, Charles & Tommy McDonley.
Juanita is survived by four loving children, Kenneth Jr (Nancy) Walters, George (Carolyn) Walters, Lloyd (Jennifer) Walters & Barbara (Ben) Shannon; seven grandchildren, Allen (Carmen), Rachel, Joshua, Lloyd, Sarah, Kenny (& fiancée, Liz) & Ashlyn; devoted brother, John McDonley; brother, Daniel (Jeri) McDonley; three sisters, Beverly, Michelle & Cheryl "Teede"; step-mother, Evelyn McDonley aka "Granny"; special nephew, Michael Wayne; and by her extended family & many good friends.
Juanita was a former employee of K-Mart, Meijer's and Duke & Duchess. She served on the City of Dayton School Board from 1972 to 1976. Her greatest joy was her children & grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank The Hospice of Dayton and Father Terry from St. Luke's Church for the loving care they provided to Juanita during her last days.
Juanita passed away due to Small Cell Lung Cancer after smoking for most of her life. The greatest way her family & friends could remember & honor her memory is to not smoke.
