Joyce Stauffer

Joyce Lee (Bolduc)Stauffer, Born Berwin IL 03/06/1939, Passed away Dayton OH 08/26/2011

Joyce slipped peacefully away from this world after her long battle with cancer, holding the hand of Tom, her husband of 50 years.

Joyce lived the dream of her lifetime. She grew up on a farm, in the small northern Indiana town, of San Pierre. After High School it was off to Purdue University where she met a tall, dark haired young man. She married that college sweetheart, Tom, shortly after their graduation in 1961. They were off on an adventure of their lives, moving to Pennsylvania for Tom's work and supported him while he attended night school at Penn State. In 1965 along came Jill and then in 1967, Jerry joined the family. An opportunity came to live in Japan for 2 years in 1970 so Joyce packed her family and then they were off on another adventure. After a few more moves around the country they finally settled in Centerville Ohio. Joyce raised the children, became involved in the St. Leonard's Faith Community volunteering in the church office, playing piano for the church choir for 30 years, and working part time at St. Mark's book store. With the children grown and off on their own and Joyce and Tom became world travelers with Friendship Force. They traveled to Peru, Italy, Switzerland, England, France, Sweden, Wales, Czechoslovakia, Norway, New Zealand and Germany. Joyce lived a very fruitful life. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife, a mother, an aunt, mother in law, and a Grandma. Through to the end she carried herself with an inner grace and peace unseen by so many.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Helen Bolduc, her niece, Jean Hickner-Putnam and her grandson, Connor D Campbell.

She is survived by her husband Tom Stauffer of Centerville Oh, her daughter Jill Campbell, son in law Ron Campbell and grandson Collin Campbell of Bellbrook Oh; her son Jerry Stauffer of Columbus Oh; her sister Doris and brother-in-law Richard Hickner of Lake Jackson, Tx, Brother and Sister in law Robert and Sue Stauffer of Shaumburg, Il, and dozens of nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

She is so loved and will be missed by so many. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 5-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439).
