Joyce G. Snell

Joyce G. Snell, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at The Laurels of West Carrollton. She was born on September 4, 1935 in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Leo and Ella Gilliland.

Joyce led a life dedicated to her role as a homemaker, where she excelled in creating a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones. Known for her impeccable style, she was always well-dressed, with her hair carefully done. Joyce enjoyed an array of hobbies, finding joy in daily walks at the Dayton Mall and listening to country music. She was also an exceptional cook and exhibited great skill in needlepoint, crafting beautiful pieces that will be treasured for years to come.

She is survived by her loving son, Rick (Gayle) Snell; grandsons, Scott (Jeannette) Snell and Ryan Snell; great-grandchildren, Evan, Blake, and Wade; brother, Jackie (Fayrene) Gilliland; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as a host of extended relatives and friends who will continue to honor her memory.

Along with her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Snell; and her brother, Wilson Gilliland.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 11 am to 1 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg Centerville Rd, Dayton, Ohio, 45459). Funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

Joyce leaves behind a legacy of warmth and devotion that will continue to inspire her family and friends.
