Joyce Ann Oktela, age 71 of Dayton, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born January 21, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to James and Audrey (Goring) Bonson.
Ann was a professional dog groomer and loved all animals. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and talking about her family. Ann attended local Baptist Churches in Dayton and enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed NFL football and was a New Orleans Saints fan. Ann loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Ann is survived by a daughter, Holly (Shane) Sands; two sons, Jim (Meredith) Bonson and David (Lisa) Bonson; eight grandchildren; Katlyn Dye, Ian and Emily Bonson, Sarah Carter, Caleb, Daniel, Karley, Matt and Cassie Bonson; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Tom; a brother, James J. Bonson; and a son, William Preston Boyte.
Services are private at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
