Joyce M. Aikens

Joyce Marie (Stills) Aikens was born August 22, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio to Nathaniel and Keria Stills. She departed this life on July 30, 2012 at the Hospice Center of Dayton. Joyce graduated from Roosevelt High School and worked for the Montgomery County Human Services Department, where she later retired.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel and Keria Stills, Her grandparents, Rev. R.L. & Mary Gates. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Ralph Aikens, one brother, Nathaniel Stills, Jr, three daughters, Anita (David) Collins, Terri Cooper, Carolyn (Jonathan) Smith, one son, Bryan (Sandra) Cooper. One step-son Ralph Aikens, Lester Carlton an adopted son, seven grandchildren, Shana Childs, Devon Childs, Kayla Childs, Keria Cooper, Bryan Cooper, II, Sabria Cooper, and Sebastian Cooper. She also leaves to mourn her passing her devoted cousin, Ann Johnson and numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Boulevard, Kettering, OH on Friday, August 3rd at 12:00 pm, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am., Pastor Jamison Hunter, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Officiating. Burial will follow at the VA National Cemetery.
