Joyce Kimbell

Joyce Veron Kimbell "Pocahontas", age 70 of Dayton, passed away April 28, 2016. She was born July 14, 1945 in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Lee Kimbell; brother, James Kimbell III; sister, Janiece Kimbell; aunt, Barbara Ann Crishon; uncles: William Richardson, Robert Richardson, Bill and Bob; and cousins: Dana Caver and Deborah Caver.

Joyce is survived by her father and step-mother, James and Betty Kimbell II; children: Antonio (Allyson) Kimbell and Antoinette Kimbell; grandchildren: Sierra Skeen, Jessica Skeen (De'Juan Hawkins), Maija Cleveland, Andrea, Chase, Jayden, Alana, Bronson and Layla Vanaman; great-grandchildren: Thaddeus, De'Nyla and Zamirah Hawkins; brother, Joel Brian Kimbell; sister, Renee Kimbell; previous step-mother, Menta Kimbell; aunt and uncle: Mary and Henderley Caver; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including: Tracy Harper and Nellie O'Connor-Haynes.

Joyce retired from the State of Ohio after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of True Christian Missionary Baptist Church.

A Going Home Celebration will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12-1 pm.
