Joyce H. Schardt
Age 77, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007, at the Maria-Joseph Living Care Center.
After graduating from Wittenberg University Mrs. Schardt taught briefly in the Dayton School System before going to Northmont School District, from which she is retired. Joyce enjoyed helping children learn and continued teaching even after her "official" retirement. She received great joy from her students.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Schardt, mother, Ruth Weaver, and step-father, Grant Weaver. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Lynn Cashman, grandson, Joshua Eugene Cashman, family friend, David Berkshire, and many close "Teacher Friends." She gave first and took a back seat when it was time to receive. Her final reward and true time to rest has come. May you rest in peace in the arms of Christ – the only true resting place.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.
